About Animal Repellent
Animal
Repellent is an effective way to stop an animal like a bear or a dog from
harming you or loved ones. It is derived from the same powerful super hot capsicum (hot peppers) in pepper spray used to to stop a person from attacking
you, only in a slightly less powerful strength. Canine Repellent
A trained, well behaved attended dog can of course be a lot of fun, or at the
very least something that you should not have to be concerned about. An untrained,
unattended dog on the other hand can cause serious injury, and even though there
may be recourse after the fact, the best idea is to stop an incident before it
happens. A smart idea is if you have to be in an area where you may encounter
a dog that could be unruly is to have a canister of pepper spray handy.
You should have it ready, as dogs can move many times their body length in a
fraction of a second. You may unknowingly agitate the dog, or the dog may
already be agitated when you come across it. Either way, you need to stop it in
it's tracks. Certain breeds have a higher tolerance for pain than others so you
have to do something overwhelming in an instant so you can get away. Bear
Spray
Hiking or camping in the woods can be fun and relaxing for you or you and
your loved ones. But remember, that while you are visiting, bears live there.
Bears are good at foraging for food, but like to have some quick and easy fast
food when it's available. Unlike you they are not likely to be possibly counting
calories or watching their weight so if they smell any of your food, they will
come after it. Remember to keep food and trash containers tightly closed
when you are not using them. Otherwise you may get an unwanted visit in the
middle of the night or while you're out on a walk after a meal from something
wanting a snack that is far bigger and more powerful than you. Although
there are stories of unprovoked bear attacks, the vast majority of attacks come
when a bear is surprised or you end up in the proximity of their
young. Bears move quite fast - faster than you might believe given
their size. and you are not going to be any sort of match for it. In that moment
you have a few choices- You can lay down and play dead and hope for the best,
you can run (but just know the bear WILL overtake you) or give a good shot or
two of bear pepper spray in the face. While you may find it hard to believe, it
will stop him in his tracks- and give you the time you need to get away. Please
check with your state's laws regarding the ownership and use of animal
repellants such as these. There are many instances where pepper spray may
be illegal or restricted where animal spray is not.
